A “Sudan-Sudan Dialogue”

Justice Africa currently organises, in collaboration with Sudanese CSOs, a series of debates which engage Sudanese in discussions about the future of Sudan. These debates are widely promoted across the country, to engage Sudanese citizens across the country aswell as CSOs from different sectors and local communities.

At least three debates take place each year and are coordinated to intersect with crucial events (such as the elections in 2010 and the referendum in 2011). Each debate has a distinct theme in order to ensure focussed and thorough discussion and create a sustained following across the country. The debates are open to the public and are recorded for transmission on radio, television; web-cast to include the Sudanese diaspora and other interested parties; and transcribed for publication.

The debate themes are as follows however they can be changed to accommodate changes in the situation in Sudan:

1. Political Debate (prior to the elections)
2. The Economy
3. Poverty and Development
4. Social Justice
5. Good Governance
6. Peace and Security
7. Unity and Secession
8. National Identity
9. The Future of Sudan
